MICROMOT steel collets are hardened and therefore have a high, consistent spring force. They retain the required accuracy even after long use (not comparable with unhardened, 4-slotted collets and those made of brass or aluminium). Due to 3-fold slotting, which is much more difficult to manufacture than 4-fold slotting, a better bed exists. This is important for centric gripping of small diameter shanks.
