Natzmer Uhlan, named after Georg Christoph von Natzmer (* 16 October 1694; 27 January 1751) was a Royal Prussian officer, last in the rank of Major General. In 1710 he joined the Prussian army with the Regiment du Portail on horseback. Until 1713 he took part in the War of the Spanish Succession in France. In 1712 he held the rank of cornet, then lieutenant in 1718, and finally knight-master and company commander in the Prince Gustav of Anhalt Regiment on Horseback (Cuirassier Regiment No. 6) in 1719. In 1732 he became a major, but at the end of 1733 he was grounded for two months in the fortress of Spandau. Promoted to lieutenant-colonel in 1736, he served in the cuirassier regiment Count Geßler No. 4 and became commander there the following year. There he was commissioned to form the first Prussian Uhlan regiment. He was to raise five squadrons, but it was not until Frederick II ascended the throne that the matter progressed. -Wikipedia-
