The Battle of Waterloo 1815 is probably the most famous battle of the 19th century. It was both the climax and the downfall of Napoleon and the end of 25 years of war in Europe. Napoleon Bonaparte, King of France and ruler of the largest European empire since Rome, marched against Brussels to defeat the Allied armies under General Wellington and the Prussian troops under Field Marshal Blücher. The outcome of the battle is known. Now the battle can be "re-enacted" on the chessboard and take a different turn.
