Officer, piper and crew, parade. 3 moulds, for casting the fully sculpted 54 mm figures. The original Highland regiments, from the beginning of the 18th century, consisted of members of the Scottish Highland gentry of distinction. The aim of recruitment was only to enlist individuals from the Scottish Highlands. However, as the Highlands were largely depopulated during the 19th and 20th centuries, the Highland regiments of the British Army experienced a long-term decline in the proportion of recruits from the Highlands and many Lowland Scots and others were recruited.
