The Do 27 is one of the most successful German aircraft developments of the post-war period: a distinctive, robust and extremely versatile machine. Built at Dornier from 1956, it was the first aircraft to go into large-scale production in Germany after the war. For decades, the short take-off and landing aircraft also flew with the German Armed Forces. The Zebra-Dornier gained worldwide fame from Prof. Bernhard Grzimek, who used it in his nature films in Africa.
