The Junkers Ju 87 better known as the "Stuka" (short for Sturzkampfflugzeug, or dive bomber) is arguably one of the most famous aircraft of the Second World War and remains the most successful model of its class. The aircraft, with its distinctive gull wings and characteristic dive-bombing siren, saw action throughout the war and on almost every front, proving particularly effective in its early years of service. Nearly 6,000 aircraft left the Junkers production line by 1944. This volume, with its wealth of detail and contemporary photographs, is undoubtedly the best book currently available on the Stuka.
