1790 Chevaulegers were raised in Bavaria. In the Bavarian army, the entire cavalry was converted into chevaulegers in 1811, who temporarily took over all cavalry duties (small-scale warfare, reconnaissance, security, massed deployment in battle) as a unit cavalry until 1813, when the army was reorganised after the Russian campaign and specialisation returned.
