The BA-64 was a fast, light armoured reconnaissance vehicle that was used by Soviet troops from 1942. It was lightly armoured, could reach speeds of up to 80 km/h and was armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun in a small turret. The Wehrmacht captured some vehicles and continued to use them under the designation BA-64B(r). After the Second World War, it was also used by the National People's Army of the GDR (NVA) and in the Korean War.
