The group of figures for the story "The wild boar". Hieronymus Carl Friedrich Freiherr von Münchhausen (* 11 May 1720 in Bodenwerder; 22 February 1797 ibid.) was a German nobleman from the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg. The stories of Baron Münchhausen are attributed to him.
