Marian was the betrothed of the legendary outlaw of Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood. In reality she may have been a conglomeration of several females in Robins life. However, for both television and film audiences she has been "all rolled into one" and come out as the Lady Marian Fitzwalter, a beautiful woman of good family who just happened to fall in love with a dashing young archer who lives in the middle of a forest. In film she was most memorably portrayed by a very young and very pretty Olivia de Havilland.
