This is not, as some might expect, a cross-dressing cowboy but a young cowpoke who rides at the rear of the herd, always on the lookout for any strays that might fall behind or wander off the trail. He wears his neckerchief bandanna up over his nose and mouth to avoid the worst of the thick dust stirred up by the hooves of thousands of Texas Longhorns.
