Volume 19 of the series "The Napoleonic Archive". While the regimental history by Percy Groves concluded that the early history of the regiment was missing due to the destruction of the records during the evacuation of Port-au-Prince in 1796, Gareth Glover has located the Orderly Book, which actually exists and is published here, with the addition of a transcript of the handwritten Standing Rules in Canada in 1801 and the Officer's Mess Rules in Jersey in 1802. Added to this are very brief memoirs of the 66th in the Peninsular War. These provide a valuable, unique record of the regiment for the period.
