This publication tells the story of the of the Thornycroft Antar. Entering service at the beginning of the fifties, the Antar was based on a commercial oilfield truck that just happened to be "in the right place at the right time" and was pressed into military service! It proved to be enormously capable, eventually replacing the wartime Diamond T, and serving until the early eighties.
