Volume 3 of the "Kit Build" series describes in detail the assembly, additional detailing, painting and weathering of model kits of a legendary U.S. Navy fighter aircraft from World War II: the Grumman F6F "Hellcat". Almost 200 colour photos show the "Hellcat" and, in combination with text and captions, document the process of creating models in different model scales. Coloured aircraft profiles show different paint schemes, markings and insignia on the aircraft.
