Mirage IIIE

The Dassault Mirage III is a milestone in French aviation production. Manufactured from the early 1960s to equip the units of the Armée de l'Air, it immediately proved to be extremely effective. It quickly became a commercial success and was exported to numerous countries, where it took part in various conflicts in the 1970s and 1980s. Characterised by its distinctive delta wing, it was capable of exceeding Mach 2 thanks to its Snecma Atar engine with afterburner. After the Mirage IIIC, which was intended for the role of interceptor, the multi-role and ground attack version was developed. This resulted in the Mirage IIIE, which is aerodynamically characterised by an extension of the fuselage to accommodate improved avionics.
