The sports version of the Lancia Delta road model - the "HF" 4WD - is an iconic rally car. Produced in the second half of the 1980s, the Delta HF competed in the World Rally Championship from 1987 to 1988, winning two World Championship titles and finishing first in numerous races such as the prestigious Monte Carlo and Sanremo rallies. Its evolution, the Lancia Delta Integrale, competed until 1993, winning five more world championship titles and cementing the Italian company's track record in off-road racing. In addition to many aesthetic details that made it more muscular, such as enlarged wings and new air intakes on the bonnet, the HF Integrale's technology and engine were also improved. For example, the output of the 1995 cc turbocharged engine was increased to 185 hp. The Lancia Delta Integrale dominated the World Rally Championship in the 1980s and early 1990s, leading many famous drivers such as Miki Biasion, Didier Auriol and Juha Kankkunen to victory.
