The AH-1W "Super Cobra" was developed by Bell Helicopter as a further development of the "Cobra" combat helicopter, entered service in the 1980s and was used in various operational areas, including military operations in the Gulf and Iraq. Equipped with two powerful General Electric turboshaft engines, which enable it to reach speeds of over 280 km/h, it is characterised by a high degree of operational flexibility. The crew consists of two people, the pilot and the weapons operator, who sit in tandem to optimise visibility during combat. It can be equipped with TOW anti-tank missiles, AGM-114 Hellfire guided missiles and unguided rockets. The AH-1W was primarily used by the United States Marine Corps to support ground forces in amphibious assault operations.
