The standardisation of U.S. Army transport vehicles took time, but was largely complete by the early 1940s. At the same time, modern and powerful communications equipment was being developed and had to be made mobile. Among the major vehicle families of the U.S. Army, therefore, one finds Signal Corps-designed trucks, workshop trucks, vans and trailers, described in their technical details and illustrated by hundreds of contemporary photographs.
