In 1989, there were more Porsche 962 Cs at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans than any other car. The Porsches led for many laps, but still did not make it onto the podium. It has to be said that these models, designed in 1982, suffered from the introduction of newer engine developments, particularly from Mercedes and Jaguar. But the winning streak of this legendary brand on the race track at the Sarthe will remain unforgotten.
