From the second half of the 1990s, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, normally known for operating large cargo aircraft, also operated a small fleet of Yakovlev Yak-40 trijets. They were used for a number of years on domestic passenger services between St Petersburg or Moscow and destinations along the Volga, such as Nizhny Novgorod and Ulyanovsk. This latest 1/200 scale version of the distinctive Yak-40 can be displayed with the rear passenger stairs extended or closed.
