In July 2024, the Croatian airline received its first of a total of 15 Airbus A220s on order. The first scheduled flight for historical reasons was from the Croatian capital Zagreb to Frankfurt. In 1992, the then newly founded airline's first international flight also flew to Germany's largest airport. With the arrival of its first state-of-the-art A220, Croatia Airlines was able to continue its international expansion. It currently flies to 30 international destinations, supporting the country's growth as a popular holiday destination. By 2027, the A220s are expected to replace the entire current fleet of Croatia's national airline, consisting of A319s, A320s, and Q400s.
