This limited-edition 1:500 scale model is a perfect match for our current Braniff and Boeing 727 anniversary series. After the Braniff lettering on the fuselage of the originally introduced dark blue was barely legible in low light conditions, the color was lightened slightly and officially introduced as "Solid New Dark Blue" in 1967. Compared to the many vibrant colors on other Braniff aircraft, the "New Dark Blue" was deemed too "subtle" and "colorless" and was only used on ten aircraft, including this 727-200.
