As an engineer, scientist and industrialist, Hugo Junkers was jointly responsible for the upswing in German aviation in the 1920s to 1940s. Helmut Erfurth paints a precise picture of the life and work of the aviation pioneer, who also built measuring instruments, metal houses, heavy and light oil engines, among other things. However, the centrepiece of this illustrated book is the Junkers aircraft, above all the legendary Ju 52, which is presented with partly unpublished photos.
