Courtly love was a medieval literary concept that saw romantic affection as an extension of the chivalric code of behavior. It became a very important trend around the XII century and originated a myriad of tales and stories with great influence both in the literature from that period and also later.
With images of princesses locked in solitary towers, fabulous deeds accomplished by knights on a quest, or promises made by equally pure and forbidden lovers, courtly love has originated or influenced incredibly important pieces of literature and art, from the Arthurian Cycle to the works of William Shakespeare, the paintings of the Pre-Raphaelites in the XIX century and many more.
Our bust is inspired by one of these delicate and pure medieval maidens that inspired the quill of gentle poets and the swords of brave knights.
