The D-Day landings in Normandy, commencing on 6 June 1944, were part of the long-awaited Allied campaign to defeat Germany in Western Europe. Indeed, within less than a year, the war in Europe would draw to an end as Germany was crushed by Allied and Soviet forces approaching from east and west respectively. The Allied campaign in the West was thus critical to achieving VE Day on 8 May 1945, as Germany fought ferociously to defend the Fatherland. To commemorate that important theater of operations, Dragon is releasing six 1/35 scale figure sets from its popular WWII range. The half-dozen figure sets include a mixture of German, British, Commonwealth and American subjects, each of which represents troops fighting in Western Europe in 1944 or 1945. Its some time since most of these lifelike figures were available on shop shelves, so this varied and practical assortment is a fine opportunity for modelers and diorama builders to get hold of them again.
