Cast by Jörg Endorfer in 1487 for Duke Sigismund of Tyrol. The original is in the Musée de l'armée in Paris. It came to France in 1862 as a gift from the Turkish Sultan and had previously stood on the ramparts of the fortress of Rhodes, having probably been captured by the Venetians in the war of 1487 and wrested from them by the Turks in the course of the 16th century. However, it cannot be ruled out that the Venetians only came into possession of the cannon in a battle after 1509. It would then be possible that "The Beautiful Catherine" took part in the siege of Kufstein in 1504. The barrel has a length of 3.65 m, a weight of 4597 kg and a calibre of 39 cm in flight and 19 cm in the powder chamber, including a firing rack with tarras screen.
