The "Dardanelles gun" was cast by Munir Ali for Mahomet II in 1464. The barrel is 3.16 m long, the chamber is 2.25 m long, it has a barrel width of 63 cm, and its external dimensions are 1.05 m in diameter. It fired bullets weighing 720 pounds. The gun barrel consists of two parts which could be joined together by means of a large screw. The two parts of the barrel together weigh 8-10 tons.
