The biography Charles III is the sequel to the book The Windsors: The German Roots of the British Royal Family from George I to Elizabeth II by Eckehard Korthals. This book is not an apologetic whitewashing of the British monarchy, but rather a story about a king who, as Prince of Wales in 1997, was partly responsible for the British royal family's reputation reaching an all-time low following the death of Princess Diana. However, the author also describes the rise and incredible transition of one of the most hated royals in British history to a mature monarch.
