Our series shows the poet in the company of his comrades (Lützow Freikorps) at the enthusiastic lecture of his new patriotic verses. The audience, including the commander, listened intently. Even some cavalry soldiers who want to set off on an exploration ride remain for a short time.
Carl Theodor Körner (* 23 September 1791 in Dresden; 26 August 1813 in Rosenow Forest near Lützow) was a German writer and freedom fighter. Through his patriotic poems and his early death as a member of the Lützow Free Corps in the wars of liberation, he became a leading national figure. His best-known works include the poem Lützow's Wild Hunt and the collection Lyre and Sword.
