This thick column, covered with posters, was much admired in front of the house of its inventor, the printing works of Ernst Theodor Amandus Litfass at Adlerstrasse 6. It was one of 150 columns that Litfass had erected at his own expense on the most prominent street corners of Berlin at the time up to 1 July 1855.
