About 1750, height 9 cm. The dragoons were designed as mounted infantry, so their training was strongly adapted to the infantry regulations. Originally they were to reach their place of action on horseback but fight on foot. Foot drill and firefighting were more important to the dragoons than riding. In Frederick the Great's time, the dragoons basically carried the same armament as the cuirassiers, but they did not wear the typical breastplate of the cuirassiers.
