Hussars, as light cavalry, were modelled on the Hungarian example in 18th century Prussia, as in almost all European armies. The Hussar Regiment 2, von Zieten, was one of the most famous regiments at the time of Frederick the Great. During the 7 Years' War it was in action in Prague, Kolin, Breslau, Leuthen, Zorndorf, Hochkirch, Kunersdorf, etc.
