Tyrolean riflemen are special traditional rifle associations in Tyrol (North and East Tyrol, South Tyrol and Welsh Tyrol), so-called companies. They are comparable to the mountain riflemen in Bavaria. Their history goes back to the Middle Ages. In Tyrol, there was already a Ständevertretung in the 13th century, in which not only nobility and clergy, but also citizens and farmers were represented.
