Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm, of the German Princely House of Wittelsbach (25 August 1845 - 13 June 1886) King Ludwig II has great significance for Bavarian identity as the so-called "Kini". Ludwig, the fairytale king, became the Bavarian epitome of the "good old days".
