The focus is on the refuelling/ammunitioning of a Panzer IV Tiger. Despite its relatively small number of only 1350 units, this type became the symbol of the German tank weapon in WW2. With its 8.8 mm cannon, it fought tanks from a distance of 2000 m with high accuracy and penetrating power. Since the range of a tank filling in the field was only 60 km and the ammunition supply 92 shells, refuelling/ammunitioning was a daily routine that took place outside the combat zone
A heavy Mercedes Benz truck was used to transport the supplies.
Complementing this group was a Panzerwerfer 42 on a lightly armoured Opel mule. With its 10 15 cm tubes, it had enormous firepower and could evade counterattacks relatively well due to its mobility. Just under 300 were built.
We have named the series December 1944 because the weapon systems only appeared from the end of 1943 onwards and the accompanying infantrymen were in winter uniform, thus fitting the Ardennes offensive. In particular, the cyclist with the bazookas on his wheel is very typical of the last winter of the war
