Bonnie and Clyde was a US criminal duo consisting of criminals Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (b. 1 October 1910 in Rowena, Runnels County, Texas; Ä 23 May 1934 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (b. 24 März 1909 in Telico, Ellis County, Texas; Ä 23 May 1934 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana). Bonnie and Clyde roamed the Midwest of the United States during the Great Depression and, together with other criminals, gang-robbed grocery stores, gas stations and small rural banks, committing a total of 14 murders (mostly of police officers). Their crimes, along with those of others such as John Dillinger and Alvin Karpis, caused a considerable stir in the USA during the period of economic crisis from 1931 to 1935.
