This atlas is a richly illustrated and easy-to-understand presentation of the development of armoured warfare from the First World War to the present day. With more than 120 complex, computer-generated battle maps and graphics, the book covers the first significant use of tanks at Cambrai during the First World War to the major tank battles of the Second World War, the Indo-Pakistani War, the Arab-Israeli Wars, the Iran-Iraq War, the Allied invasions of Iraq in 1991 and 2003, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. All maps have been specially created by an experienced cartographer. Each map has been designed to highlight a specific aspect of the battle and therefore varies in shape and size from isometric to semicircular and from full-page to double-page as well as in perspective, with some maps offering a global perspective while others have a narrower focus. Major battles such as Villers-Bretonneux, Amiens, Kursk and the Golan Heights are presented in great detail. All maps are accompanied by a legend to help the reader understand the actions and events.
