Description of the Battle of Fleurus on 29 August 1622. In this battle, the troops of the outlawed Count Palatine under the command of the mercenary general Ernst von Mansfeld met a Spanish army of General Fernandez de Cordoba. In the end, the Mansfelds were able to celebrate a dearly bought victory and continue their planned march into the northern Netherlands. The booklet describes the background of the battle in the overall context of the Thirty Years' War and the Dutch-Spanish conflict, the course of the battle and its consequences. The composition, armament, equipment and clothing of the mercenary armies in the Thirty Years' War are also described.
