Volume 116 of the series "Guerreros y Batallas" describes the Battle of Pharsalos, one of the decisive battles of the Roman Civil War. In addition to a chronology of the Roman Civil War, the first pages of the work offer an assessment of the overall situation in the run-up to Pharsalos as well as an overview of the course of the campaign in Greece. This is followed by assessments and descriptions of the armies of Gaius Julius Caesar and his opponent Pompey as well as information on the character and generalship of Pompey, Titus Labienus and Julius Caesar. Furthermore, the strategy of both sides, army strengths, battlefield terrain, tactics used and the personal commitment of Pompey and Julius Caesar on the battlefield. The last 20 or so pages then document in detail the course of the battle at Pharsalos and the consequences of Pompey's defeat.
