Volume 16 of the series "Imagenes de Guerra" is devoted exclusively to the German tank units of the Waffen SS that were equipped with the heavy tank combat vehicle VI "Tiger I": 13th /SS Panzer Regiment 1, 8th /SS Panzer Regiment 2./SS-Panzerregiment 2, 9th /SS-Panzerregiment 3, Schwere SS-Panzerabteilung 101, Schwere SS-Panzerabteilung 102 and Schwere SS-Panzerabteilung 103. A large number of contemporary photos show the use of the vehicle within the framework of the aforementioned SS tank units. Exemplary for the operations of these units, the volume describes in detail the battle at Villers-Bocage in Normandy in July 1944, in the course of which the successful and highly decorated SS tank commander Michael Wittmann was killed.
