Description
Emil Sonderegger, born in 1868 in Appenzell, was an embroidery manufacturer. However, the military trade was much closer to his heart. In the 1910s and 1920s, Emil Sonderegger made a steep career in the Swiss military. Sonderegger, a reactionary and haggard militarist, propagated the authoritarian state on the fascist model. His political aberration ended abruptly: in 1934, Sonderegger succumbed to cancer after a short illness. Sonderegger's career and political activities are described here in detail.
