(Soldiers of the Rococo)
158 pages with 72 color plates. Paperback, German text.
Frederick the Great and his army in pewter. From the series of Berlin tin figures, Offizin Werner Scholtz, Friedrich the Great and his armies are presented in this volume, from the accession to government in 1740 to 1786. The external appearance of the Prussian army and its tactical formation almost demand to be reproduced in tin figures. This book is an excellent addition to our catalog (or manual) by referring to our corresponding serial numbers. We recommend!
Zeitschrift für Heereskunde: This small, excellently produced pocket booklet shows almost all the Frederician soldier types produced and distributed by the Scholtz pewter foundry in Berlin. Embedded in short but helpful text descriptions, all the figures are illustrated, most of them excellently painted. The book concludes with layout plans and series catalogues of Frederician types. For friends of the pewter figure it is a good overview and painting template, military historians will take it to hand with a friendly smile. G. Ortenburg
