Since the days of antiquity, memorable military events or deeds have been commemorated in the form of jewellery, medals or badges. This text and picture book shows a total of 150 of these pieces of military jewellery with the help of many very good quality photos, whereby the focus is particularly on American decorations.

For example, the "George Washington Peace Medal" presented to the Indians or the first copy of the Congressional Medal of Honour can be found as well as corps badges from the American Civil War, etc. Apart from the focus on the USA, however, there are also British, French and German treasures from the field of military jewellery. The individual orders, medals, pins, watches, bracelets, etc. are illustrated by large, almost full-page colour photos and presented with their most important data (name of the decoration, manufacturer, date, material, dimensions, collection). The actual text describes the history of the different types of awards (war, bravery, commemorative and peace awards).
