Description
12 large-format reproductions of lithographs, four of which are in colour, as well as four further b/w drawings show an excerpt from the work of the artist Gustav W. Kraus. The individual lithographs document the farewell of the Royal Greek troops in Munich in 1833, the unveiling of the national monument in Ober-Wittelsbach in 1834, the flag consecration of the Landwehr Battalion Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm in 1835, the unveiling of the monument to King Maximilian I. Joseph in 1835, the jubilee Oktoberfest in Munich in 1835, the Corpus Christi procession in Munich in 1839, the opening of the railway from Munich to Augsburg in 1839, the entry of Prince Maria of Prussia into Munich in 1842, the inauguration of the Valhalla near Donaustauf in 1842, the horse race at the Agricultural Oktoberfest in 1844, a field manoeuvre of the Bavarian army outside Augsburg in 1846 and the ceremonial unveiling of the Bavaria on the Theresienwiese in 1850. Each of the lithographs mentioned is explained by a text.
