In 1989, the orchestra took part in the International Film Festival in Berlin, which was also attended by the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson. Ever since this encounter, Jackson had dreamed of performing with a military band. In 1995, he marched across the square in front of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War together with the Moscow Garrison Orchestra in the uniform of a Russian soldier, waving his drumstick.
