Most history buffs probably have never heard of the Supreme Allied War Council. It was a secret committee consisting of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, French Prime Minister Édouard Daladier, and one minister from each of their cabinets. It met a total of 16 times. Stefan Scheil has now succeeded in evaluating the top-secret minutes of these conspiratorial meetings, which reveal some spectacular findings: The War Council let the Poles walk into a trap in 1939 and never had any intention of intervening in the war on their behalf.
