From the life of Jung-Stilling. It is 1787. The citizens of the tranquil university town of Marburg are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new professor Jung-Stilling. Among them is Elise Coing, a bright young woman who feels constrained by the social conventions of the time. She is particularly looking forward to the arrival of the well-known professor, writer and ophthalmologist.
