This is the first encyclopaedic work in Italian dedicated to the German tank destroyers of World War 2. The text describes the organisation, weapons including ammunition, vehicles, soldiers and combat tactics from their roots in WW1, through the birth of the anti-tank forces in the Reichswehr, to the development of special anti-tank guns (Pak) and tank hunting units in the early Wehrmacht period.

A detailed description of the complete development of special armoured vehicles to combat enemy battle tanks from the Panzerjäger I to the "Marder" series and the "Ferdinand" or "Elefant" to Jagdpanzers such as the "Hornisse", "Nashorn", Jagdpanzer IV, "Jagdpanther "r , Jagdpanzer 38 (t) and finally the "Jagdtiger". Furthermore, all other experimental or provisional vehicles with anti-tank weapons, including the assault guns III and IV as well as prey vehicles, such as the Italian Fiat Ansaldo self-propelled gun. Also included are insights into the interior of the Jagdpanzers, including the "Panther" turret, the paint schemes and tactical symbols of the Jagdpanzers, the uniforms of the Panzerjäger crews, as well as the training and countless engagements of all independent anti-tank units of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. There are also biographical data and descriptions of the deeds of the "aces" among the tank destroyers as well as information on the Panzer Destruction Badge for close combatants, one of the highest awards of the German Wehrmacht. The text is supplemented by hundreds of b/w and colour photos, most of which are still unpublished, as well as 33 detailed and colour vehicle profiles prepared by "Éditions Caraktère".
