Die letzte Fahrt - Abschied von der Linie 33.
With the title "Mit der Straßenbahn durchs Geiseltal" (With the tram through the Geiseltal), author Werner Gutjahr, once a tram driver himself on the line in question, brings to life the moving and evocative image of a historical era in our region. It is a half-documentary, half-fictional story (the author calls it "documentary prose" in reference to Konstantin Paustowski) describing the experiences of a tram driver who, in the mid-fifties of the last century, drives his tram for the last time before he changes jobs along the interurban line between Merseburg and Mücheln, along all those villages that will soon no longer exist because they will have to make way for brown coal. Naundorf, Körbisdorf, Benndorf, Neumark, Geiselröhlitz, Kämmeritz, Möckerling... The narrator vividly reports on the worries and hardships of the people affected by the resettlement and the places where they lived. 16 villages had to make way for the open-cast mine not far from the Geiseltal railway. These include the communities of Großkyna / Kleinkayna including Roßbach (1963/1966; Runstedt 1929/1931; Naundorf 1954/1957; Körbisdorf 1957/1958; Wermersdorf 1956/1957; Benndorf 1953/1954; Zützschdorf 1956/1957; Neumark 1936/1966; Neumark Colony 1968/1975; Neumark East 1968/1975; Petzendorf; Geiselrölitz 1967; Kämmeritz 1966/1967; Lützkendorf and Krupa 1961/1963; Möckerling 1962/1964; Neubiendorf 1964/1968 ; Zorbau, Zöbigker and Eptingen 1968/1975.
