Volume 65 of the "Warpaint series". When the "Wessex" first entered service with the Royal Navy in 1963 the Sikorsky S-58 had already been in U.S. service for 8 years. The enterprising Yeovil company exploited to the maximum the airframe's sturdy build. Designed with both the aircraft enthusiast and the modeller in mind, this series offers a comprehensive and accurate account of a single aircraft type within each issue. Drawings provided in both colour side and plan view with 1:72 scale plans, kit decal and accessory lists, squadrons, units and individual aircraft serials in codes, etc.

When the Westland "Wessex" entered service with the Royal Navy in 1963, its American counterpart, the Sikorsky S-58, had already been in service with the American military for eight years. The British company "Yeovil" got the best out of its American predecessor for its British cousin.
